Beate Mordal is a light lyric coloratura soprano from Molde, Norway. She finished her education at the Royal Danish Opera Academy in Copenhagen, May 2015. The same year she sang her debut as Papagena in Die Zauberflöte by Mozart at the Royal Danish Opera. The following summer she worked for the festival of Aix-en-Provence with contemporary repertoire. From that she was pointed out as one of the HSBC laureates from the academy. The summer 2018, Beate sang her first Najade in a new production of Ariadne auf Naxos by Strauss, of Katie Mitchell under the baton of Marc Albrecht. She also premiered in Il Giustino of Vivaldi, as Arianna under the baton of Peter Spissky. In october she sang Micaëla in a touring production of Carmen for BNO, Norway. And in November she premiered in the role of Eileen in a Wonderful Town by Bernstein at the Royal Danish Opera.
